For all its customizability, Minecraft has never let the user create their own character. Sure, you can change clothes, but the game has been limited to stock in-game avatars. That is changing thanks to a new Character Creator that is available in the Minecraft beta version. As the name suggests, Character Creator allows gamers to personalize their character: “The Minecraft Character Creator [lets you] personalize your avatar in a number of ways, including body size and shape, limb replacement and tweaking of eyes, mouth, hairstyles, and colors, facial hair and skin tones,” a new post to the Minecraft Feedback blog notes. “More than 100 items will be available for free. There will also be a range of custom accessories, created by the Minecraft team, available for purchase The Character Creator is currently available to beta testers, but will also roll out to Minecraft Earth, as well as all other Bedrock platforms like iOS and Nintendo Switch, once the beta has concluded.”
Availability
Users can check out the Character Creator from Minecraft Beta version 1.13.0.15. This is available on Xbox One, Android, and Windows 10. It is worth noting that users on the full version of the game should probably avoid moving to Beta just to try this feature. That’s because access to Realms is lost and worlds opened in Beta cannot open in other versions. If you’re already on Beta that’s fine, but we advise non-beta users to simply wait for Character Creator to come soon.
