Leading the new features is an update that gives users tools to manage which notifications they see from applications. This same button can also be selected to enter the Settings for more options. In the settings screen, the menu has been simplified to make management more efficient. Microsoft has added images to show how notifications will look on the desktop when a change is made. Also on the settings page, there is now a button for muting all notifications across Windows 10. “You no longer have to go to the old sound control panel to do that – we’ve added it as a top-level option in Notification & Actions Settings,” Microsoft explains.
More Changes
Action Center has had a new way to manage notifications since the last preview release for the Windows 10 20H1. However, Microsoft has used the release of Preview Build 18932 to explain these changes in more detail. “We’ve also added a new direct link at the top of the Action Center to manage notifications, so it takes one less step to get to Notification & Actions settings. To make room for this we’ve moved the “no notifications” text down to the middle of the Action Center, which also means your eyes don’t have to traverse as far to see it when you launch the Action Center from the bottom of the screen,” Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, says. The final part of the new notifications settings page is an option that shows a list of apps that most recently sent notifications. Microsoft explains this feature allows users to more easily see recent notifications that has been dismissed. “Finally, ever dismissed a notification you wanted to disable, and went to Notification & Actions Settings only to find the list of notification senders to be really really long? You can now sort the list by which apps most recently sent notifications,” the company adds.
