In terms of Flow, the company has improved the way in which the service allows users to create integrations. Specifically, the update focuses on streamlining the approval workflows process. Microsoft has introduced new templates and improved designs. The update also brings better methods for managing team members across Flow. Microsoft says the ability to share and maintain a flow of multiple people is now out of beta. Additionally, shareable buttons are also making their debut with this update. These allow users to trigger a workflow for mobile apps and Dynamics 365. This update also introduces instant actions support, each of which appear on a phone home screen. Microsoft says the support is available on Android today and iOS in the future.
Microsoft Flow is a service that allows users to create automated workflows across applications. It can be described as an enterprise-oriented IFTTT competitor. By creating automated chains, users can get data collection, file synchronization, and notifications. Earlier this month, Microsoft brought Flow to Windows handsets for the first time. Last week the company also rolled out another update for the service. The release introduced new actions, new services, as well as support for Computer Vision APIs. The Computer Vision APIs allow users to create flows which extract rich information from images to categorize and process visual data.
PowerApps
Microsoft’s PowerApps service has also received an update this year. With this release, there is improved support for SharePoint lists. With this ability, users can integrate apps into Power BI dashboards, while in-app push notifications are also supported. PowerApps allows developers and businesses create applications without needing to use coding, and it is now available in public preview. There are now over 100 integrations within PowerApps, with this update bringing tighter integration with Azure Functions.
